My Name is… Ray Abram

The reason you are reading about me is… I’m running for Atlanta’s City Council District 11. The southwest side of Atlanta has been neglected for far too long by our city’s leaders. I plan to bring my business expertise and passion about economic development to help our area as well as the entire city of Atlanta become as successful as it can be.

I attended… Hampton University (Class of ‘88)

Right now I’m working on… Bringing together a team of developers, financers and community leaders to build a live/work community to the Southwest side of Atlanta. Also, developing a community policing program to help keep our citizens safe.

But if I wasn’t, I’d be…
Playing basketball with my sons.

One thing I do every day is…
Pray.

I can’t stand when people…
Refuse to listen to a solution that differs from their own even when it is the most logical.

But I love it when people…
Work together and set aside petty differences for the overall good of the community.

If you happen to run into me in the street… Please stop and say hello. I love to hear from the community. One thing that really energizes me is knowing that I can make a difference in this world by helping everyday folks find a solution to their problems.

The Best piece of advice I ever received was… If you knew how little time people spent thinking about you, you would spend less time worrying about what people thought about you.

If I had to coin it, my message would be…
Nothing is worthwhile without struggle.

My future plans and projects include… Becoming the next City Councilperson for District 11 in Atlanta, GA. To spearhead the development of a live/work community in my district, and to successfully raise my three sons to be productive citizens.

Big Ups to… God, My wife Julie Wallace Abram, The City of Atlanta, Gamma I, 1-5-1, and the HU Marching Force.
