MEAC votes to add Savannah State as 13th member
Filed under Campus Life
MEAC officials announced Wednesday that Savannah State has been extended provisional membership to the conference beginning July 1.
As a provisional member, Savannah State must be in compliance with stipulations regarding scholarships, athletics budget and staffing by September 1, 2011, before full membership status is granted.
The addition of Savannah State is the second expansion of the MEAC, which also includes N.C. A&T, this academic year and would give the league 13 schools. N.C. Central was voted in as a provisional member in September.
