I am not a big fan of coonery and buffoonery that is seen on TV and have not been for a long time. My tastes have matured quite a bit since Flip Wilson and the first season or two of Martin. I do understand the need to get messages out to the masses but am disheartened that it takes such stereotypical characters to do that (or so TP believes). There has to be another way. Spike Lee, while not one of my favorites either, makes some very good points. A writer/director SHOULD be allowed to pursue an artistic endeavor but at what cost? No not everyone likes the same things. I am just not feeling the imbalance when it comes to the imagery. I know with things being as bad as they are that lighthearted and down right funny material is always welcome. But this? I’ll pass.
